IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT HARMING YOURSELF OR ATTEMPTING SUICIDE:

If during office hours, call your doctor's office.

Or call 911 for emergency services.

Alternatively go to the nearest hospital emergency room.

To be connected to a trained counselor at a nearby suicide crisis center, call the toll-free, 24 hour National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at

1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255)

Ask a family member or friend to help you make these calls or take you to the hospital.

IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND IN A CRISIS:

If you have a suicidal friend or relative, do not leave him or her alone. Try to get the person to seek immediate help from an emergency room, their doctor, or a mental health professional. Please take any comments about suicide or wishing to die seriously. Even if you do not believe there will be a suicide attempt, the person is in sufficient distress to benefit from your help and from treatment by a mental health professional.

For advice, call the toll-free, 24-hour National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at

1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255)
